Dear friends and family,

We arrived…..in Cieneguilla

At this moment we live approximately a month in Cieneguilla, Peru, a village just 20 km outside Lima, in the middle of the desert. To give you an impression: we are surrounded by rocky mountains and sand. During the day the temperatures are up to 38degrees Celsius and 20 degrees during the night. Close we find a little river where we

Street in Cieneguilla

go regularly to find some refreshment in the water or for the kids to play with rocks. The people around us are extremely friendly, warm and open.

Poverty

Just a year ago they installed plumbing and sewer system in Cieneguilla, which results that we have water both from the pipe as from the water pith. Opposite to Bogota, our laundry can hang outside again and dry within the hour. Also we have to arm ourselves against the overwhelming presence of mosquitos. We meet a lot of poverty around us and to be honest we really have to get used to live under totally different circumstances with little kids. But, we didn’t come to do nothing and that’s what it’s about. We have come to serve God and to step into the work He is doing.

In spite of the difficult circumstances, every day we encounter blessings to built us up. Sometimes practical, sometimes a verse or a song. Recently we received u Dutch worship song where it says:

Father make us become a blessing, here in the desert Waiting for your mild rain to become a well ourselves

What do we do…

At the moment we find ourselves in the introduction phase. As from March 1 the team is complete with the Vargas’ family from Colombia and Jessica from the US. Every day we start with devotions and the days vary from arranging visa to visiting urban areas, translating work for the DTS and relationship building with pastors, YWAM Lima and ministries around us. Just a few days ago I did a favor for a ministry and taught English in a Highschool in Lima. Quite a challenge as I have never been a teacher myself and there was no material to work from… Also we help out Hears in Action, a church near the slums around us. The reach out to the children of the slums and we help them out, while building a friendship with the pastors.

Garbage

Garbage

We sense that God is guiding us to work more together. We’re praying for it. We already visited a closed slum together as we want to try to work inside. Next to that we try to set time apart to do community service. The last weeks we picked up garbage which was dumped alongside the river here in Cieneguilla.

Although we are with little people, every drop of water gives cooling to a hot plate.

Prayer

We would like to ask you to pray for guidance. We knock on the doors of closed slums. These are slums where you cannot enter without the permission of the bosses. We feel that God is guiding us towards them and towards the families that live there. In the slums the need is so high. We will tell more about that in our next newsletter.

SchoolAlthough they regularly suffer diarrhea, they have overcome al the changes well. Timo and Joah started school as from March 1 and they like it a lot. It is a big difference though going to school from 8 to 13.00 and having to make home work every day! And we thought, how cheap this school was comparing the school in Colombia… Until we received the materials list we had to purchase. Until 8 rolls of toilet paper had to be bought, incredible!! Timo: ‘mama, why do they never pray to Maria here?’ (the kids now go to a Christian school). Joah: ‘are we going to our Peru house now?’ ‘is this also Peru?’ And Hanna, our little ‘rose in the desert’. She’s such a different child here; cheerful and developing well. Enjoying a lot, although tough as she wakes up so many times a night.

Less Crime

It is so much safer here, less crime and we feel so much safer walking on the streets. Although many Peruvian stops when they see our kids and say: Careful that nobody takes them!

Words of thanks and prayer

Thank God for His care and protection. For the safe travels and the arrival in Peru. Thank God for the daily encouragement and strength and for His guidance! We are definitely testimony of special encounters and guidance. Pray for more guidance and clarity; where to start working. Pray for us as a family; settling in a new country is quite tough also for a family. The culture shock and the little Hanna who wakes up every 2 hours. Pray for strength, patience and daily fulfillment of the God’s joy. Pray for new friends. Life as a missionary can be quite lonely, although many people around you, true friends are hard to find.

God is faithful and may God fill you with His eternal joy !!

Shailoh support

The Shailoh foundation supports their projects financially. In 2003 Shailoh’s founder Jordi Bosch worked for Centro Shama and saw the sincere efforts to make a change. What impressed Jordi was that in their fundraising, they’re not just holding up their hands for money, but really try to work and earn it themselves. This organization has a website, click on the link to be forwarded.

Biking in Bogota Since we have our Dutch bikes here, we truly follow our Dutch identity by biking a lot!! With a big thank you to a Dutch bike shop who donated a mountain bike to Jordi. We cycle to work, our every day shopping and the so called cyclo via, the closed roads on Sundays especially for bikes and skaters. You should see the faces of the Colombians; those little blond boys on Ria’s bike and Ria with a big pregnant belly! A very uncommon sight here.

“Nobody should leave the door to start a new day before he or she spent time at the foot of the cross to receive God’s love” Max Lucado

Pearls from our work To many people we are able to be a blessing. The many stuff we carried with us from Holland such as blankets and clothes, have already found a grateful home. Thanks to materials we received from “De Hoop” (Dutch Christian rehab.center), many addicts are being spiritually fed by Ria. And in the Other Way (the Drop in Center) and Light and Life School, God’s love is being sowed amongst all the children, receiving daily alimentation and, just as important: Lots of attention! (This is a gift Jordi received). It turned! Praise God! Our little treasure has turned and is able to be born naturally! Sometimes it seems that nothing is being planned, except when it’s about labor!

In week 39

Ria will initiate the birth process (the doctor doesn’t want to work at night). The medical care is very good, so we feel ourselves in good hands by the doctors and look forward to the arrival of number 3! By the way, don’t try to figure out the sex of the child, because of Dutch custom, we don’t tell. Timo Is going to school without tears, because…. he gets to READ !! With his only 4 years of being on this planet he enjoys it a lot as well as writing his name and mommy and daddy. Once a home he can really download his energy in our garden, which we are so grateful to have! Some comments of him: ‘I am so mad….like a buffalo’ ‘mommy, why do we never have to wait in Holland when we open presents? Joah Almost always a little sunshine! Key moment of the day: running towards mommy when he’s been picked up from school. Last week he decided to stop sleeping in the afternoon and also to indicate when he needs to go the toilet. With that last decision we’re very happy. One of Joah’s prayers: “Thank you Lord God that my friend Duko is ill and that I have a sweet mommy, daddy and Timo, Amen. Favorite movie:‘amarillo baby’; the yellow. A 3d recording of our 20 week old baby. Doris;

Doris prepares herself for a DTS in January. If you want to help her financially, she would be very much helped! At this moment she works as a volunteer in Light and Life school and spends one day a week looking for work. It’s very difficult to find a job here; a prayer point for her! Besides Doris, we have Annie and Jessica from the USA living with us as well. They are coworkers from the same ministry we work in. Struggle The last few weeks we experienced a lot of struggle in our ministry Formando Vidas and amongst the workers. Loads of muggings till serious marriage problems. We truly experience that the devil is not sitting still and does everything to destroy God’s work. Our daily prayer is protection for us as a family and to us as ministry. Will you pray with us? On our way to Peru Behind the screens there’s been worked a lot to let the move to Peru as smooth as possible. On a weekly basis we gather as a team to pray and discuss all practical issues. All and all a complete move isn’t a small thing to do!! Financially Praise God that so far he still provides our needs! We are grateful for the donations we receive so we can continue the work. But we still pray that God continues his provision. Some of the sponsors stopped after a temporary commitment and a move to Peru brings a lot of extra costs. Besides that we are looking and praying for people who want to support the Vargas family, the Colombian family who will go with us to Peru. At this moment they don’t have the means to pay their monthly necessities. As we will start a commercial product in Lima, we expect to be able to pay them a salary in a year. To overcome that year we are looking for people who would be willing to commit themselves for a year sponsoring this family. If you feel that God puts it on your heart, please let us know. Familia Vargas Filmpje When you click on the link underneath, you can watch a short movie which we made for our home church in Holland. We hope we can soon offer you a English speaking movie.

Final words

Final words; Thank you so much for your compassion and your warm and attentive emails! Que Dios te bendiga which means God bless you! Greetings from Jordi, Ria, Timo en Joah Bosch

Greetings from Holland and Colombia! Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, It has been a while since our last English newsletter. My fault, because I forgot to translate one. So now you will receive 2 in one. Holland Praise to God that we were able to go on leave for two whole months after 2 years in Bogota! It was sooo good to see everybody back again: friends, family and the familiar environment where we grew up in. We enjoyed using our bikes, speaking Dutch and eating everything what we don’t have here in Bogota.

Sadness and anger

A minor thing was that we, in the first week in Holland, experienced what we lived through in Colombia and how we had suffered from so many different things. It created sadness and anger, which we had to go through and still are working through the area of forgiveness.

Jordi

God was very clear to Jordi in the 3th or 4th week that we had to go through a similar process as Joseph, when he, through all the suffering was made ready to reign Egypt and save Israel. We have been blessed so abundantly that we hardly can find words for it. We tried to save money for our trip, but appeared that people were so generous and we were never without car. And even in the last weekend Jordi was donated a mountain bike to take to Bogota.

Thank you God !

We are almost speechless and can only look up and say: Thank you God ! Until the 6th of September we were able to stay, reloaded, fully packed and ready for the next adventure with God. Timo and Joah For Timo and Joah the time in Holland was a very positive ‘shock’. So many cousins and aunts and grandparents around, that it was a continuous feast for them. Going to the beach, taking the first train ride, going to the zoo; made us wanting to experience that over and over again. Now we are back, Timo and Joah are adjusting pretty fine.

The first week they didn’t even cry when they went to school. Also after so many new experiences, it was time to go back into the regular structure of ‘normal’ life. What now? Jordi started his work in the Other Way (walk in center) again and will also help out with 2 bible clubs on the Saturdays. Ria has started to work in Kabot, a rehab center for addict youth. Also a few times a month she will visit the Dutch prisoners in the Bogotan Jail. Also we are looking forward to expand our family in November when Ria will give birth to our third sprout.

We ask for your prayers that all will go smoothly. Besides all that we are preparing ourselves for Peru. In February 2011 we hope to move to Lima to start a YWAM ministry for children at risk and their families. To learn about our plans and vision we recommend you to go to our website www.shailoh.org at the end of the month where we explain specifically what we are up to. Also for this huge preparation we ask for your prayers. Schooling project Reyes is doing well. Although in his young age he has to arrange so many things, he manages well. His grades are good and at the end of the year he hopes to pass for his 3rd year. We are grateful for the support we receive as it is a very expensive education. In the future we hope to be able to give more children the opportunity to fulfill their dreams.

Our team Recently our Peru-team has been expanded. We are happy to introduce: Jessica Mahoff: An American young lady, with whom we already work with in Formando Vidas. For a while she sensed that God was directing her elsewhere. She sees Peru as her confirmation and the children as her calling! David and Yanira Vargas with Lukas and Tomas A Colombian family, with whom we also work with in Formando Vidas. They have been working for Formando Vidas for years and now they sense that God is leading them towards Peru. For them it will be very difficult though to raise monthly support. As for them we would like to ask you to pray if God puts it on your heart to commit yourself to them for a year or so.

We expect, as we want to develop a product, that after a year we can pay them a salary. Our vision is that we will be able to give salaries to our staff who aren’t able to raise support. Also we want to become able to send the internal children to good education. If God inspires you to support this family (or our ministry) we can recommend you the following data.

Name: Shailoh Foundation Account number: 55.35.27.991 IBAN: NL25ABNA0553527991 SWIFT: ABNANL2A

Also good news for American supporters: soon we will have the opportunity of sending the support to a recognized foundation in the States so that your support will be tax deductable. At the moment more people are enthusiastic and are praying to become part of Open Arms ministry (our new name in Peru). We praise God for this development. We pray that God will use you in His powerful and unique way to grow more into an intimate relationship with Him. Thank God for: – The blessed time in Holland; – Doris (who lives with us) who found work and prepares herself for a DTS; – Reyes, he is doing well and starts to have Christian friends – His provision; Financially and for our Peru team; Please pray for: – Us, protection both in health as emotionally; – Guidance and provision in the exciting time ahead of us; – Timo and Joah; that they will have fun and will receive all the changes as blessings, their school and their health; – Vargas family; that they will raise sufficient funds, for protection in their family and comfort as they will leave everything familiar behind. God’s blessings Jordi, Ria, Timo and Joah Bosch

Last year 2009 was a good year, says Jordi Bosch, chairman and sent out missionary of the Shailoh foundation. As a small foundation we received more than 37.000 euro and with that we were able to do a lot of good! We were blessed to experience the successful finish of the first year University of Reyes from the Little Drop project.

Also the various projects such as the financing of the library for the refuge center for street children in Lima and the purchase of a cow for Formando Vidas were enough reason for gratitude. God is good! Also the Bosch family were allowed to experience the provision of God in their work with the children at risk in Bogota, Colombia.

Sometimes living out of donations can be a bit stressful for missionaries, but also in that area God proved Himself faithful. We’re looking forward to another year (our 8th already), which already presents new and big ideas.

The Bosch family is preparing themselves to move to Peru at the end of the year to start a ministry for street children and help to set up a base for Youth with a Mission. Also we hope and pray that we will be enabled to bless more and more youth through our Little Drop project. I want to thank everybody for their support and prayers for our work and I hope we may count on your support in the future. God’s blessings, Jordi Bosch

premisis of the farm. This pregnant ‘lady’ was soon not alone. Thanks to an ex volunteer from New Zealand, we were able to buy two pregnant cows more. Latest news is that our cow has been labored from a white little bull. Xtra member in our family Since a month now we have an extra family member in casa Bosch. Doris, a 20 year old girl. Doris will be the first of 3 generations graduating from high school. She lives with us, because of her risky home situations (her brother just got shot ‘accidently’), which was affecting more and more in her own life. It’s for the first time of her life that she lives in a ‘normal’ family. Beautiful to see God at work and use us as living tools in His ministry; just to be there for her and share our lives with her. She has lots of things to learn and is totally dependent from us (very good for our Spanish though). She hopes to do a DTS next year. Our treasures Joah walks! Salutes everybody and says ‘gracias’ to about anything. Timo: Proud: ‘I am the fat (in stead of big) brother’ when comes of the slide with Joah. It took a while but… Timo finally enjoys himself at preschool. Treasures stories from work – Every time we get to see more faces in daycare The Other Way, where the kids are shared about God’s love for them and being prepared to go to a regular school; – A grateful Doris who wants to learn more about God; – We organised a succesfull worshipnight for all YWAM Bogota, where God received all honor; – We receive more youth on the Wednesday lunch group; – When we out on the streets on Mondays, we are recognised more; this is a very good development in the friendship and trust phase. – Our Bogotan church has started to hand out groceries for us to hand out to the poor families whom we work with; – The families whom we work with show more vulnerability toward us, so we can really touch the core of their problems and being able to make some definite changes in their lives. It still are long changing processes. Holland came to us!! To us a real answer to our prayers: visit from Holland ! (grand)ma with sister in law Denise came for a week to visit. Although for such a short while, it was good.. Denise also made a report from their travel, which will soon be able to be read on the website. Denise: “This journey was an extra ordinary experience to us, very nice to see the family again and also to see a completely other side of life.” Thank God for: Our visit Protection and good health The loneliness seems to be over; we have more contacts and we’re getting more adjusted to living life here in Bogota. Please pray for: Doris, that God will heal her from the emotional wounds that she has because of her past. Pray for guidance in het life; she wants to do a DTS and is currently praying to get it financially covered. For us to be able to coach her in a healthy way and at the same time guard our family life. Travel to Peru reis and God’s plan; (28 nov- 13 dec) That God will show us direction when we’re there. To conclusion Did you know that if you eat a speculaasje (dutch simple cookie) after 1,5 years, this tastes better than chocolate pie? Blessings and hugs from Jordi, Ria, Timo and Joah Bosch

people we met in the streets; people who’re hungry, poor, disabled etc. Some of them come to our house to eat a mountain of food from their plate; others get it served in the street. They’re not only eating here…. Also sharing their problems and sorrows and Jordi always shares something encouraging from the Bible and often may pray for them.

Timo to ‘school’ and Joah 1 year!! It’s really truth; Since grandpa and grandma left is Timo going to ‘school’; a kind of kinder garden for 3 mornings a week. He cries a lot when he has to go; he prefers to stay home with his mum. Not nice… Praise God his face is different when Ria comes to pick him up. What he likes the most is the music class. For us, it’s more like a school than a kinder garden; they’re having classes and he even had once homework! Joah is enjoying life a lot! 16th of February he turned 1. It was a nice day with visitors and cake. For a while he tries to talk and had 2 molders. All his energy seems to go there, besides this he’s not doing lots of physical stuff. Just sitting. Visitors Jordi’s parents came to visit us for a month. This was a great time. We miss them now they’re away. They also took 2 suitcases full of Dutch items for us. The guestroom is free now, so, welcome! Toys and Bibles We collected money for children’s Bibles and toys. This has been a great success; we collected more than 2000 euro’s. We could make the children of Otro Camino so happy with new toys and every family received a study Bible for families as well. Almost all the toys were broken in Otro Camino. We could throw those away. Besides toys we bought a little bicycle, puzzles and other educational games and materials. Thanks you all so much for the donations which made it possible to buy the materials!! Visiting of families The last months, Jordi is learning to get rid of his ‘social workers coat’ and is learning to be more open for the Latin way of social, emotional and spiritual care. The problems that people are carrying with them are often severe and very deeply rooted. These are not just solved with an simple plan of action. An example is family B. Alicia (not her real name) is a single mum of 5 kids. Because she would like to stop hitting and mistreating her children, she asked for help from our ministry. Alicia herself lived in the streets before. When she got pregnant at her 17th, she moved out from streets. Now she’s working 6 days 12 hours a day. She earns a salary where they cannot even survive from it. Problems are piling up and up. Our visits give a small point of light to see at the end of the tunnel. Otro Camino It’s such a pleasure to see the little children walking in to enjoy the day with attention they get and all that they can do and learn. Although they’re not that easy to cope with; often they’re used to set the rules themselves at home because parents aren’t there. Here kids receive structure and through the monthly parents meetings, we are able to give the parents some knowhow and spiritual equipment as well. We’re glad to see the positive results and sadly enough, we still see the bleu spots and marks caused by mistreating. We’re praying for them and are trying by building relationships with parents to be able to reach out more to them and. It’s a slow process but we may know that’s all in God’s hand. Outreach in the streets When you’re in the streets; you see so many things all at once. The rich people getting of their cars and the 14 year old boy who tries to sell his garbage backs. A bit further shoe polishers, sellers of candies, beggars and people like you and me doing their grocery shopping. A couple of weeks ago we started with outreaches in the streets in a zone where women and transsexuals as well are prostituting themselves. It’s a dangerous area with so many needs. What we do is prayer walks, handing out bread and chocolate and trying to get in touch with the people. Behind every door can be so much need. We noticed that recently; behind a green door (a member of our team had already seen this in a vision) were families live with about 30 kids. They seem to be open for our visits. We praise God for this opportunity. How are we doing after 8 months in Bogota? Quite good! We’re so thankful that we’re able to say this. When we look back, we see a turbulent and tough period of time. We’re glad that we’re settling more and more here in daily life as well in our work. We may be a blessing for more and more people. Especially Ria had a hard and ‘lonely’ time. God carried us and it’s such a blessing to experience that these hard times make us so much stronger with Him and as a couple together. Prayer and thanksgiving points: Thank God for: His protection and health. Joah has been quite sick en is doing better More work to do; more families who call for help, more people in our house for a visit or asking for help and the open door of outreaches in the streets Our supporters who are so faithful in supporting us by prayers and donations His blessing and protection to our family; we had a great time with our parents (in law) en feel so blessed as a family together here Contacts. We’ve had quite a lonely time here and now we’re getting more contacts with people which is such much better. Pray for: God’s protection and leading; especially now we’re working in the streets (and here in Bogota their not safe at all Leading, wisdom and finances for Formando Vidas. There are plans to open this month ‘the Oasis’; a 24 hour crisis shelter. Because there’s no leader, it can’t start yet Mrs. R; a lady who came on Ria’s way. She’s suffering of cancer and is really sick. She has 2 small children and doesn’t have a personal relationship with God. Pray that she will open her heart and pray for healing Pray for Jordi and his work among families. Pray for more understanding of the Spanish language; that’s so much needed Timo; he’s going to ‘jardin’ and says he doesn’t like it. He’s still crying when Ria brings him there. Pray that he will learn the language more and more and that he will adapt there A car; it’s materialistic but a real desire of us. Not only for us as a family but for Jordi as well since he’s working more and more with families in nighttime. Traveling with buses isn’t that nice and safe in nighttime. Kind regards, The Bosch-Family

Right now we’re living in Bogota for almost 3 months now… in some ways we’re at home here and in some ways…. We’re not. We’ll tell you. Visit www.shailoh.org (we have an English button on the website!)

Living in Bogota We’re quite at home here; travelling by buses to work, church etc. While I’m writing this we’re living in the house which we could rent for 4 months. Within 2 weeks we have to move out. We found another house but….. still we don’t know when we can move in. In Colombia it works like this; once they’ve found someone for the house, they take it easy. So Jordi called the estate agent a couple of time a day sometimes to keep it going…. The language; that’s a point of frustration, especially when we have to arrange things. Luckily it’s getting better. Timo is talking a bit Spanish as well; counting from one to 6 in Spanish for example. Work We are very blessed to do great work here! We’re glad that we can be useful here, sometimes in the little things as bringing a cup of coffee to the security-man. One day a week Ria works in the drop in centre, which is a welcoming change. Jordi keeps himself busy with some projects in the area of family ministry. During the weekends we often receive a child from a problematic family staying with us, or we take care of the children who’re staying at ‘the farm’. We believe that God has given us a burden for the need of families in Bogota. We’re privileged to be a chain in this whole process.

In short we’re working on the following projects: – One church, one family, one child; a huge foster care project with the aim that one family will take care of one child and that the family will be supported by a church. The child, church and family will be supported by professional social workers, psychologists, etc. For this lots of things are needed as changing of the law, motivating churches in finding professionals. – Working with the family; Working with families at their homes who need help by raising their children. – Parent’s education centre; To minister and educate parents who bring their children to the drop in centre (and hopefully in the future also the whole nearby prostitute area) – Stimulating parents to be more involved with their children, this through small things as hanging photographs of the children in the drop in centre till organizing parents meetings. This week we had our first parents meeting. We prepared this through praying and doing the practical things for that morning which started with a Colombian breakfast. Many times they tried to have a meeting like this but it never got started so it was quite a challenge. We were very happy to meet more than 20 parents! It was a great meeting with them. Sometimes it’s heartbreaking to see how parents cope with their children. This week I welcomed a mother who came to pick up here 2 daughters from the drop in centre. The girl was glad to see mummy. Mummy reacted short, gave a lollypop and walked away… This girl was being picked up, but sometime this even doesn’t happen and we have to bring the child to the police or take it home. The parents have a tough life; have to work hard or don’t have any work and didn’t get that much of skills from their parents. Individual supporting plan As you might know, for a couple of years now we’re trying to give some children a chance to make their dream come truth. One person is Reyes; a former street child of Lima, Peru. We gave him a chance 5 years ago to study at a private secondary school. The result was that he had to work 2 years double to catch up with others. He had to work very hard to reach to the point where he is now. A few days ago I spoke with him by phone and he told me this: “As you know, I would like to study at university. I applied as 400 others did. I heard that only 20 of us would be selected. We all had to do an entry exam. And you know what? I became first!!! We’re really thankful for this and this gives us reason enough to continue with supporting others. Foundation Centro Shama Centro Shama, the organization on behalf of street children in Lima, which we support, didn’t sit quietly. Recently we received an email from the director and she told that at this moment they have 35 children living with them in their refuge house and that they started various projects. One of them is a child choir. This choir already made 5 cd’s, made lots of concerts even for television. What will this do to the self esteem of such a street child!! Family life We feel so privileged that we may live and work here as a family and that we may take care of our children ourselves. We meet so many others situations here… Although it sometimes is hard not yet having a social live here, to be quite isolated because of the language barrier. We are really aware of God giving us strength…. And it’s a good lesson as well to be thankful for the smallest things in life which we often take for granted. And thankful we are! We enjoy each other and it’s nice to welcome another child in our home in the weekends. Timo likes it as well and finds it very interesting having such a big sister. He takes her at 6 a.m. to our bed…. Great! Our kids are a curiosity here. Words as doll, lovely and beautiful are daily said by others. Joah gives the people a beautiful smile as an answer. Nice and not nice…. – Nice; to get a parcel from the Netherlands with a magazine or…..drop! – Not nice; waiting for hours…. While having an appointment at a fixed time – Nice; Sunday school ; Timo singing ‘sus manos’ and making a craft or let it be done by others. – (Not) Nice; 4 new teeth in one week (Joah) – Not nice; not having friends nor have a coffee together – Nice; playing outside and play football with ‘gramps’ (security man) – Not nice; children who are being dropped at the ministry. Although it’s good that they’re dropped here so that they may come to know true love, God’s love. – Nice; almost potty trained!!! (Timo) – Not Nice; to face the brokenness in the streets; mops, dirty children, prostitution, converted men who offer themselves. Action toys and children’s Bibles In the drop in centre ‘Otro Camino’ where both of us work and where about 30 children daily come, is hardly any toy that’s not broken. The children entertain themselves with the broken toys but it could be so much better. Besides that there aren’t many children’s books. Sometimes I take some books with me from home. I’m shocked to see how little words the children know. Timo is much further while he’s so much younger. For these reasons we want to collect money for toys, books and bibles for children. We would like to present one children’s Bible to each family that brings his children to the drop in centre. Money that you would like to donate can be send to the bank account of St. Shailoh. Thanks and prayer points: – Thank God for the parents meeting this week and pray for them. Pray that we may minister to more parents and pray for more Colombian workers. – Thank God for His care and protection for us and that He provides daily. – Pray for inspiration en guidance in the work that we may do. By ourselves it’s impossible to do this. – Pray for the 3 children who’re with us in the weekend and their family where there’s so much brokenness and mistreating; pray for peace and restoration and the love of God in their lives. Thank you so much for your support! With love, Jordi, Ria, Timo and Joah Bosch
