Was founded in 2004

Shailoh foundation has been founded in 2004 by Jordi Bosch as an answer to the cry for help from the many street children in the world. At this moment more than 100 million children are living in sewers, under little bridges or just on the sidewalk. The problems are severe and the answer to it is complex. Still Shailoh wants to be drop of water on a hot plate. Jordi Bosch: “many drops of water make a hot plate cool, eventually”.

More efficient organisations

Shailoh is involved with different projects, especially in Latin America. In 2008 Jordi Bosch, his wife Ria and their two children went to Colombia to work for a ministry for street children. In Jordi’s opinion it’s very important when you work in difficult areas to create or find networks and agreements between the present ministries. To be effectively working, because you don’t want to just built an extra home, when there are already so many. Many organizations are little islands who would work a lot more efficient if they would share information with each other.

Most of the children will not reach the age of 25

Above all the life of a street child is a life with a very dark perspective. Most of the children will not reach the age of 25, where the majority is already dead at 18. Therefore it’s immensely important to give an answer to what Jesus said to the multitude: “Let the children come to me”. Let us also be available to receive those children and give them a chance to live and to discover the plans that God has for them. The Shailoh foundation aims to improve the wellbeing and welfare of children, who with a lack of correct intervention will suffer a high risk on an existence where sickness, abuse, hunger, death, will be a daily matter.

To realize our goals we try to: – Support and/or organize projects which direct or indirect contribute to the improve of the situation of children in need – Support people who actively contribute to the improve of the situation of children in need – Acting out different supporting actions which link to the previously mentioned
